WEEK 217 · v10y

Built by artists who bill hours

C4D Portal was founded by working 3D artists who were tired of earning their living in Cinema 4D while learning it from scattered sources — forum threads from 2011, tutorial channels that explained everything except how to finish on deadline, and asset marketplaces full of files that wouldn't open cleanly in a production pipeline. The portal was built as the hub they wished existed: everything a professional C4D artist needs, curated by people whose render farm is also their mortgage payment.

What's inside

The library holds hundreds of production-ready downloadable scene files, curated tutorials, render presets for the major engines, and Python scripts that automate the repetitive parts of motion design. Every tutorial is version-stamped so you know whether it still applies to your release, every asset is tested in a real pipeline before it's listed, and everything is organized by discipline — broadcast, product viz, motion graphics, character work — rather than by whatever the algorithm promoted this week. A jobs board connects studios with artists who've proven their chops in the community, and the newsletter keeps tens of thousands of readers current on what's new and what's actually worth their time.

How the portal is run

Curation is done by working artists on a weekly cycle: new resources in, outdated ones flagged, broken files pulled. Contributors are paid and credited, and the community's corrections are treated as gold — when a working pro says a preset breaks under V-Ray, we check it the same day.

  • Every tutorial version-stamped against your C4D release
  • Scene files and presets tested in real production pipelines
  • A jobs board connecting vetted artists with studios

C4D Portal exists for Cinema 4D professionals and serious students who want 3D resources that respect their deadlines. If your next render is due Friday, start here.
